Multifunctional, clean, easy to change and look great – that’s what we saw in Cologne, one of the most inspiring concepts at this year’s Imm Cologne Furniture Fair, at the DAS HOUSE booth.

Make the small one big!

Architects and designers are facing the same problem in modern life: we are living in ever-smaller homes. However, we do not want to give up on our needs. We love big spaces. So the challenge is to keep all the familiar and well-liked comfort elements with as little space as possible, and multifunctional spaces and furniture providing the perfect solution.

Feeling of the flow

The central philosophy of interior design is the removal of boundaries from spaces. They have created multifunctional spaces that give a flowing feel due to their shape and arrangement. Large open spaces have been created that allow a small apartment to provide a loft feel. Each room has an open layout and performs several functions within the apartment. Only the bedroom and the bath are separated with a correspondin closeness and a cave-like architecture, which is made it intimate.

Clean, changeable space

Although the spaces are connected to each other, there are opportunities for customized solutions. The use of color is subdued and clear, which ensures balance: sand, terracotta and white. The materials used are natural. Many wood, rattan and stone elements appear.

The result is a fresh, open interior that gives the home a sense of dynamism and clarity thanks to curved walls. Shapes and colors are natural, and plenty of plants enhance the organic effect.
