Lighter colours fade less than dark colours, so you should consider your colour selection and placement carefully. Look for the level of light fastness that indicates if the fabric can withstand more or less light. The higher the number, the better the fabric can withstand light and heat.

Care for nubuck

Daily cleaning with a vacuum cleaner with a soft attachment end. As the skin is sensitive and easily susceptible to scratches and pressure marks, you should avoid cleaning products and sharp objects. Our skins are sourced from selected European manufacturers, but as leather and skin are natural materials, some small marks and scars may occur. This is not a defect, but a natural quality of the skin. The skin is dyed which can result in some color rubbing off. The surplus color will disappear over time. The natural materials may cause variations in the colors from skin to skin.

Wool
Wool, a durable and elastic material that repels dirt, is a very popular choice for furniture. Initially, wool may shed a little excess fiber (pilling) from the surface. This has no bearing on the quality and is solely an indication of good natural quality. Embers from cigarettes etc. that are removed immediately will not leave a mark. Dark clothes such as denim can leave a mark if they are rubbed against white fabric, such as a new pair of jeans against a light-colored fabric sofa.

To proof the fabric and to remove any stains, we recommend you use the Bolia Care Kit, which contains products that have been tested and approved. Do not rub hard on the fabric surface when vacuuming and removing stains, as this can cause “pilling” and discoloring. You can get the wool to “contract” by steaming it with a steam iron.
